ExRotaprint

In the 1950s and 1960s, Rotaprint AG regularly published issues of Rotaprint Nachrichten, the company newspaper. Produced at the headquarters on Gottschedstraße in Berlin Wedding, its purpose was to keep employees and customers abreast of company developments. The successive expansion of the Gottschedstraße site into a modern company headquarters is chronicaled in Rotaprint Nachrichten, which also featured a contemporary, modern design. The nearly fifty issues that were published focus on the success of the company during the time of the economic miracle, the advancements of the printing technology and the Rotaprint printing presses, but also the precarious situation of the company in what was the then the “island status” of West Berlin.

ExRotaprint revives this tradition: the ExRotaprint Nachrichten is published in irregular intervals and reports on new on-site developments and our urban policy goals.

After the production halls to the south of ExRotaprint were demolished the interior area of the block remained empty for a long time. The discount supermarket chain Lidl and the municipal housing association Gesobau have since made their own marks.
